You do NOT point a firearm at a person for mouthing off and not cooperating. You point a firearm at someone under felony arrest, or if you see a weapon and the person is hostile, or physically approaches you in a menacing manner (which is sometimes a felony anyways, against a cop). You can arrest someone for a misdemeanor if they mouth off. No need for the East Germany treatment!!!!

They’re looking for an armed killer, not a bicycle thief. They have to assume the possibility that the person in the car IS armed.
Word to the wise: Anyone coming up on a roadblock with heavily armed cops ought to polite & cooperative.
