I've been through many military checkpoints in my life, and never, not even the day after 9/11, did the soldiers train a weapon on the vehicle or its occupants.

I understand that California has a lot of violent illegal immigrants and the cops are rightly in a cautious state of mind, but that's no excuse to point a weapon at every person coming through your checkpoint. There is a right and wrong way of doing things -- this is certainly the wrong way. If some cops can't handle situations like this with a level head, maybe they should find a safer job.

I wonder why the cop in the foreground isn't wearing his tacticool gear, like his larger compatriot. And I may be mistaken due to the angle, but is he holding the rifle sideways, "gangsta" style?
