The dog must have(with good reason) fled the scene and the baby in the back seat must be sleeping. Better not do a U-Turn dude!

This is not the suspect. We're all criminals in the eyes of the State. Those without a record, wants or warrants are the sneaky ones.
To: nuconvert
Nope. It means theres a possibility that in the few minutes before this photo was taken, the d!ck was mouthing off and not cooperating. I'm late to this discussion. But what sort of "mouthing off" and "not cooperating" would warrant a rifle to the face? He was obviously stopped and he had two hands on the wheel. He must have made fun of someone's fat mom?

We see it on full display right on this thread. It is good to know, even those 'in our ranks' might break line and falter, to sweetly lick the leather-gloved fist.
Most rank-breaking will come from fear following direct threats to individuals unknown to the ranks.
It is an important task to weed out those we know to be dependable, versus those who will not be.

Don't criticize the leo so quickly. He would have put the gun in the kid's face if he had been 2 years old. and pull the trigger

All downhill since Ellian Gonzalez. That one event promoted the government of and for the people, to a people with a boot heel on the neck and a flash bang instead of a door bell.

How do you know from this photo, that every driver who was stopped, had a gun pointed at his face?
As I said, I have no verification from this photo as to what really went on. It could have been taken by a Michael Moore type, who watched for just the right photo opportunity.

No. The CHP are indeed the most professional force in California.
They have the best training. They generally deal with a higher class of criminals than a typical city cop, and are therefore less contaminated by the filth a beat cop has to deal with every day, day after day, month after month, year after year.
In every interaction I have ever had with them they have been the absolute model of fairness and professionalism (Yes, I got the tickets I earned).
That one of them would act is such a grossly foul manner is much more disturbing than if it were, say, an LA County Sheriff.
It means even the best is now only a little better than a Gestapo agent.
That was my point.
God help us all.

Youre not really in control until youve scared the sh!t out of the average innocent citizen. It makes them hohny, baby. He and Butterball are going home to view the dash cam video and rub their guns together.

Thanks. I think I got it...

I can understand sticking a gun in this guys face if hes refusing to answer questions &/or show the cop his ID. Now think about where you would draw the line with that line of thinking? Is there any limit regarding police powers you would agree with?

Is it common practice to hold the rifle within grabbing distance?
