A data center critical for allowing uninsured Americans to buy health coverage under President Barack Obama's healthcare law went down on Sunday, the U.S. government said, in the latest problem for the "Obamacare'' rollout.
Verizon's Terremark operates the data center behind a federal system for determining eligibility for government subsidies to buy insurance nationwide and hosts HealthCare.gov, the website that makes insurance available in 36 of the 50 states.
The data center experienced a failure on Sunday that led it to lose network connectivity, Health and Human Services Department spokeswoman Joanne Peters said.
The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services told Connecticut officials about the outage and gave no indication of when the data services hub would be functioning again, said a spokeswoman for Access Health CT, the Connecticut exchange.

EXACTLY! It was never the website per se, but all the linkages to other datahubs.
I would hope that if I was an FR moderator, and I hadn’t spent most of the day dealing with DUmmies, that I would have busted a gut laughing like I did when I read the cartoon.
Thanks,
And I stated this before, in so many words.
We have a handful of Government agencies that are not only “required” to play a part, but are also pushing to be part of this process.
The conflicts among their data sets vs. the “user-defined”, “dynamic”, inputs on the front-end are more than this system can handle.
November ?
How about Never.
The more money they pour into this effort, the more complex it will become.
Certain Government agencies will need to sacrifice their need or desire to be part of this, and as a result, and in order to deliver something that works, they will violate the law and open this up to “MASSIVE” fraud.
What??? You mean the vaunted ‘DATA HUB’ doesn’t work???? BWAHAHAHAHHAHA
No, it’s the TEA Party’s fault.
Seems like every ‘fix’ they try to make takes down another part of the system....classic ain’t DOS wonderful??? Goodness gracious these guys are so out of their depth....but Sebeilius did the same type of management of software systems when she was governor of Kansas
yeah but they will never get the chance for two reasons....1)way too inexpensive for government work and 2) they don’t know Mooch
But, it still doesnt work , regardless. I do not see what difference it makes on where the problem lies. It is either usable or not
Congress needs to call the data center vendors to capital hill for a public hearing and start asking some questions. Usually a failure like this is something that has happened in the past and is likely to repeat itself again. The GAO and IG needs to do a complete investigation of this project.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shh! They’ll ban you for complaining about it.
How long has the data center been down!
lol
Since it is indubitably a fault tolerant, redundant, data center, this means DOUBLE TROUBLE!
This is such a nonstop fustercluck.
These people actually run our country.
Don’t sweat it. Within 5 to 10 years, there won’t be a country to run.
Bump
Correct.
