Fullerton resident Jennifer Harris thought she had a great deal, paying $98 a month for an individual plan through Health Net Inc. She got a rude surprise this month when the company said it would cancel her policy at the end of this year. Her current plan does not conform with the new federal rules, which require more generous levels of coverage.

Finally, a plan that doesn't favor one part of our society over the other. Pretty soon, the middle-class won't make any more than I do. They'll love the earned income tax credit. We all do.
As that self employed family man who is expected to not only pay double what I used to pay for less coverage and higher taxes to pay for all those folks who are getting kickbacks let me tell you what I've done.
First; I applied for membership in a Christian Healthcare Co-op. If accepted my monthly payment will be half what I'm paying now.
Second; I found a Concierge Doctor who's annual fee equals half of what I used to pay for insurance.
Third; I adjusted my long term business plan and opened an account in Panama where I am hoping to expand my business.
Fourth; I eliminated the few remaining employees we had here and entered into an independent contractor arrangement with most of them.
I am not going to participate in my own destruction.
I completely understand the sentiment.
While I think the inevitable collapse due to the embracing of socialism has started I don't believe it will be sudden. I think it will be a long slow process where each generation will be indoctrinated to accept their decline.
I am also preparing to live elsewhere and establish my business there. It will probably take a generation but my sons seem receptive to the idea.
