The Russians are finally going to exploit the potentially gigantic oil and natural gas reserves in eastern Siberia, and that could make them the world's #1 oil and gas exporter, no contest. The result is that the as Persian Gulf states (besides potentially Iran and Iraq, whose oil and natural gas fields are way underutilized) go into decline from falling oil and gas production, Russia will become dominant in oil and gas production by 2025-2030, especially since they have ready markets for the oil and gas in Western Europe and eastern Asia.
