FR needs as many people supporting it as possible.

A lot of regulars have been run off. So if FR wants more people it's going to need to be more tolerant. That or start using ads. It doesn't take this much money to run this website. Anyone with a ounce of technical knowledge would tell you that. Cue the "Go back to DU" replies

First of all, watering down what Conservatives stand for is the problem we're fighting. Tolerance is a code word for giving up ones principles.

Secondly, you, nor anyone, else has ANY idea what it takes to run FR. None. All you have is trash talk from disgruntled former FReepers affectionately known as anti-FReepers. I call them subversives as their intent is to destroy FR. They failed as they always do.

I don ‘t know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, “We must broaden the base of our party”–when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.

It was a feeling that there was not a sufficient difference now between the parties that kept a majority of the voters away from the polls. When have we ever advocated a closed-door policy? Who has ever been barred from participating?

Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?

I have no idea why you’re membership remains active, given that you don’t add anything of value.

Thank you very much, stuck_in_new_orleans!! In a nutshell, FR stands for God, Life, family, constitution, country and our traditional American way of life. We are grassroots conservatives here, not big tent Republicans. All like-minded individuals are welcome as long as they keep it within the guidelines.

Free Republic has (GASP!!!!!) employees, taxes, rents, equipment maintenance, and more expenses, as does any other for-profit business.

The goals of the quarterly FReepathons are not going to make any the employees or Jim Robinson (courtesy ping) rich anytime soon, or ever, for that matter. Free Republic is bare bones, and the money raised is NOT THAT MUCH for the people and expenses involved.

You have your nerve coming here and trying to reduce donations with your negative anti-freeper pap and nonsense, and on the FReepathon thread to boot. Jim Robinson does far more than run this website. I’m not going to enlighten you, for as a long-time FReeper you should know by now all the work that he does for Freedom and Conservatism.

Go [unladylike word] up a tree. Preferably at your home site, and yeah, without a doubt it’s DU.
