I serve coffee to myself at hotter temps than that, at home, and it hasn’t attacked me yet.

Ideally, coffee should be brewed at about 190 degrees.

Per your tag line, (My heroes have always been cowboys) I’m sure cowboys drank very hot coffee, and never roasted their nuts. ;-))

And yet if they served it cooler, someone would sue because they “didn’t order COLD coffee”

People need to grow the hell up.

Wish I knew the restaurants you frequent that have hot coffee. My experience is that most restaurants’ coffee is not hot. If I’m fortunate enough to get it hot I have the ability to sip it without it cooling.

Coffee is supposed to be served “piping hot”.

If they served it lukewarm people would sue them for “quashing their expectations about being served a hot cup of coffee”. This is ridiculous.

Maybe they'll serve it cold and leave it up to the customer to heat it up him/herself with a special heating element in the car?

It should be enough that Mac's wrote on the cup, “Hot drink” or maybe the stupid oafs can't read?

Maybe they could issue a special burn proof bib?

Next thing you know they’ll be suing Mac's for the doughy buns stuck at the top of a customer's pallet?

Things have gotten out of control.

You sound like another person who shouldn't buy coffee. You do know it's made with boiling water, right?
