The attorney for 74-year-old Joan Fino says settlement talks between his client and McDonalds ended Thursday without an agreement.
Fino says coffee spilled on her lap at the drive-up window and gave her second degree burns in her groin area.

Wish I knew the restaurants you frequent that have hot coffee. My experience is that most restaurants’ coffee is not hot. If I’m fortunate enough to get it hot I have the ability to sip it without it cooling.
Probably not. Injuries aren't even close in severity, and McD has done about all it can do to reduce the rate of injury due to coffee temperature.
“That’s nothing. I once skimmed the dross off of molten lead with my genitals. I didn’t even wince, nor showed any pain whatsoever. My boss panicked and asked if I needed help, and I said, “No, I feel great.” And I did.”
That’s nothing. I was on my boat cleaning a freshly caught King salmon. The boat rocked and I slipped with my fillet knife. I cut my .... Mr. Happy clean off. I sat down and using a barbed hook with 80 pound fishing line, I sewed it back on. I used duct tape for bandaging. My fishing buddy asked me if I was okay, and I said, “I feel great.” And I did. I went back to fishing and had my buddy fetch me a cup of steaming hot coffee.

Lead ass.
Original by the NYT? Joseph Lamour? Okey-dokey then.
best answer!!! McDonalds should counter sue this old bat for abusing drive up window privileges and abusing their steaming hot coffee by watering her lap with it
Was this woman born yesterday? No she was born 72 years ago and wants to be paid for her stupidity. As though she has learned nothing during her long life
McDonald’s
What we need is for Obama to initiate an Affordable Hot Coffee on Crotch Act.
Mc Dee wants to know if she was wearing Bloomers that day.
I remember taking a sip from a coffee, then being in shock that the car in front of me stopped. I slammed into it at about 20 mph.
I took my wife to dinner. Shes very sexy. So she orders soup
Young man serving her is totally distracted, looking at her chest and legs, not the table.. Misses the table and Drops the soup right on her lap. He is in agony, reaching to her crotch to clean it. Then Pulling back realizing where his hand is going. Thank god she didn’t get hurt. Funny thinking of it now. Poor kid turned bright red.
So your nuts are cooked?
When ObamaCare kicks in, you’ll see a lot of desperate people pulling these scams.
You shared this story just to brag about your wife, didn’t you? :)
Hey, I hit my thumb with a hammer, can I sue Home Depot? I got paint on my favorite shirt today too, can I sue Lowes? What a bunch of ... “cats.” If you screw up and hurt yourself guess what - it’s no-one’s fault but your own! Coffee is hot, hammers hurt, paint gets into/onto everything. You have to learn to be careful with things that can hurt you, and you know, take a little personal responsibility for the consequences of your decisions and actions.
If they served it lukewarm people would sue them for “quashing their expectations about being served a hot cup of coffee”. This is ridiculous.
Maybe they'll serve it cold and leave it up to the customer to heat it up him/herself with a special heating element in the car?
It should be enough that Mac's wrote on the cup, “Hot drink” or maybe the stupid oafs can't read?
Maybe they could issue a special burn proof bib?
Next thing you know they’ll be suing Mac's for the doughy buns stuck at the top of a customer's pallet?
Things have gotten out of control.
If President Obama had an elderly daughter, would she look like Stella Leibeck?
LOL! Fantastic!
You’re right. Unlike many others, Mickey D’s coffee is hot, as it should be. They switched to a better blend years ago so it tastes pretty good too.
