” And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:
for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away ... “
That’s not a reference to the terrestrial sphere. Might want to investigate the ancient Jewish view of heaven and earth. It has nothing to do with the modern American fundy/evangelical view.
It seems you don’t grasp the use of heavens and earth as it applies not just to the planet under our feet or the area over our heads but the system as Peter discussed in his second letter.
Reading my Bible closely I read Ps.37 particularly vs.29 wherein it’s promised the righteous would inherit the earth and live forever upon it, a statement echoed by Christ himself.
I can trust that statement since God said His word always comes about. (Isa. 55:11)
