I agree with you. But I suspect there are a few things the male employees do that might have warranted some comment as well.
At youth Mass, the kids get up to do readings.
I’m going to say it.
They read from the Bible. Three readings.
There is a cheat sheet book in every Church/Parish, published yearly to assist with inflection and pronunciation, to be read through and practiced beforehand.
The girls almost invariably get up and stumble through it and it is THE most grating thing, and I am reminded to write to the pastor about it. It is God’s Word and the girls find it acceptable, as do the parents and everyone else, that the girls are mutilating it. They are teens, not little kids, and they are volunteers.
The boys, ah, no.
Boys have a lot of faults, as do girls, unique to their gender. But doing such things in the correct manner is unique to boys. Do they have a predisposition to being publically professional?
And don’t get me started on the immodest outfits.
Though, I gotta say, Men, puleeze, we do NOT WANT to see your toes. Take the sandals and put them into the trash for the sanitation department to put them where they belong. Ditto shorts in the wrong setting. I am still scandalized that Obama plays golf in shorts. Were we ever subjected to the sight of Reagan’s legs?
He is the president. Could he just dress in a dignified way for the duration?
