Ted Cruz Goes on Offense

Ted Cruz is unbowed.

The Texas Senator, speaking at The American Spectator’s annual Washington gala Wednesday evening, was nothing if not resolute in his attacks on the disaster that has become Obamacare.

“Should we have fought this fight?” he asked, his resounding yes coming by way of citing the differences between the way the disaster of Obamacare is perceived in Washington and out in the country. “If you get out of Washington there’s no ambiguity” on the question, Cruz said.

“This thing isn’t working. It is a disaster and a disaster that is hurting people right now…. On the merits Obamacare isn’t working.”

Cruz came out swinging against his GOP Establishment critics in the Senate and elsewhere, and was fearless in taking on his critics. Saying among things that when his opponents in the GOP said their disagreement with him was on “tactics” — and he asked for their tactics — the response that came back was the sound of “crickets chirping.”

“I’m going to suggest to you that in my view that is just complete hogwash,” the Texas Senator added bluntly, turning the tables on his GOP Senate critics. He not only accused them of not knowing how to negotiate, he gestured to fellow guest Donald Trump — famously the author of The Art of the Deal — and backed up Trump’s point on the GOP Senate naysayers saying they needed to learn how to negotiate.

Yet again Cruz underlined the considerable difference between the GOP Establishment and Americans living Outside the Beltway — the very people who are getting hammered by the real world results of Obamacare.

PING lists ALERT !

It time for us FReepers to request that Senators Cruz (TEXAS) and Lee (Utah), and Rep. Barton (TEXAS) file an INJUNCTION with Justice Scalia of the SCOTUS for a one year and one month delay of further implementation of the failed Mandatory Insurance Tax Federal Law commonly called Obama’care !’

BTW, Rep. Barton in a House hearing, yesterday, stated that HIPPA Federal Law is violated by the no privacy policy of The Mandatory Insurance Tax Federal Law commonly called Obama’care.’

If we are to continue to be a “Nation of Laws,” then this Legal conflict requires resolution by the SCOTUS.

I truly believe the attacks of not only the Dems, but also the POS RINOs has made him (and Lee) more resolute and determined in their attacks on Obamacare. I also believe Cruz is making the GOP Establishment self identify in their SUPPORT of Obamacare.

Keep attacking him RINOs...we dare you!

This conservative’s dream... 100 Ted Cruzes in the Senate; 435 Trey Gowdys in the House, Nine Clarence Thomases in the SCOTUS, and POTUS Allen West/VPOTUS Sarah Palin at the helm.

The GOP isn't fighting back against Zerocare or the democRATs, at all.
They want to be part of the power grab when it's "their turn" in the WH.
Their inactions are telling.

GOP does not know how to negotiate. If some DemocRATs want a delay in the mandate the answer is-- "No, you had your chance to delay the mandate but Harry Ried thought it would be more fun to insult us. If you want it now, it will cost you":

1. Repeal the medical device tax

2. Every waiver made by Obama must be debated and approved by congress. The bill passed must contain language the President does not have authority to grant waivers or change the law without congress's approval

3.) The congress must be clear that there are no subsidies for federal exchanges

4.) Companies are not compelled to provide birth control or abortions

Democrats and "progressive" Republicans continue to make this national conversation about "health care," or about "health insurance.

The so-called "Affordable Care Act" (Obamacare) never was about "health care." That national pre-occupation was the "Trojan Horse" of "progressives," which they used to hide the imposition of government control over the economic affairs of a formerly free society.

To continue to engage in debate in the semantic terms of the Left masks the threat to liberty America faces.

The only real antidote to lies is truth.

Lies about the legitimate role of government must be countered with the "self-evident" truth embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the structure of government provided by the Founders' Constitution.

That is why any citizen who aspires to become spokesman for liberty must arm himself/herself with the weapon of truth, as revealed in those two documents.

That citizen (or elected representative) cannot go to combat with charisma, with popularity, with attractiveness, with rhetoric, or with popular semantic trickery.

That person cannot go to combat with a shallow, second-hand knowledge of Ronald Reagan's words and ideas.

That person, in order to counteract the Left's attack on the Republic, must have cared enough about liberty to seclude himself/herself for whatever period required, in order to immerse himself/herself in the ideas, writings, and speeches of the Founders of America.

Such a person, armed with the Founders' ideas, would be able to knock down, one by one, the false and counterfeit ideas of his/her opponents.

The threats to liberty are too great, and rescue from the certain demise of the Republic rests on an "enlightened" citizenry, one that can distinguish between truth and error, between individual freedom and slavery to government, and between liberty and tyranny. Any citizen up to the task of leading America back to the path to liberty should be willing to do what it takes to arm himself/herself for that task.

Obama, with his cleverness and shallow understanding of our Constitution's underlying premises, will not be a successful combatant with such a well-informed individual. He can, however, prevail over a person who only understands 20th and 21st Century talking points about cutting spending and limiting the size of government.

Some believe that Ted Cruz may have prepared himself for such a battle. What do you think?

This is symbolized by Establishment Republicans insistence that the GOP’s control of only the House means the GOP can’t act on its own. That the GOP must win the Senate and the White House before ObamaCare can be repealed.

Alas. Alas.

Once upon a time the GOP controlled the White House, the Senate and the House. And they immediately set about things like expanding the government with gems like No Child Left Behind instead of abolishing the Department of Education.

Which is precisely why I think it's a waste of time trying to save the GOP. It's far too far gone. Start fresh. Ted Cruz should be the Abraham Lincoln of our new conservative party!

A great lineup. Allen West would be a true black president. The one we have is a hippie latte, per his US hating hippie white mother.

Sarah would make a super Pres. but the media have so smeared her, with the help of McC's "advisors" that she would spend her campaign fielding supercilious questions from the toxic media.

While we are making a wish list--I wish for tv without Carl Rove. He is decidedly not in touch; in fact, I believe he may have "architected" a lot of W's trials and troubles.
