A teenager, charged with murder after his math teacher was found slashed to death with a box cutter, had hid out in the school with the weapon he stole from an art class, sources claimed tonight.
The body of Colleen Ritzer, 24, was found in woods behind Danvers High School on Wednesday morning after she was allegedly killed by 14-year-old student Philip Chism.
The small Massachusetts town paid tribute to the slain teacher on Wednesday night with hundreds of residents holding a candle-light vigil at the school where she died. Many students dressed in her favorite color pink and described her as a 'brilliant ray of light'
The community is desperately trying to understand what could have motivated such a senseless and brutal act.
Some details from Tuesday night's tragic events have started to emerge with many students saying that the killer hid inside the school after class before killing Miss Ritzer.
It is believed that he used a craft knife stolen from an art classroom to attack the math teacher after forcing her into a second-floor bathroom.

This should be cut and dry from a tree limb.
I don’t think they should cut him from a tree limb, leave his body hanging after it dried as a warning. This animal will have no redeeming qualities to salvage.
Two generations of al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Democrat race hustlers demonizing whites as oppressors of blacks. My guess.
I wonder what the motive was for this murder. If there was one.
There was a shooting earlier this week in Nevada, a former marine killed in a school, he basically put himself in between a 12-year-old gunman and other students.
Liberals of course would not let him have a weapon at school, because former marines cannot be trusted to know how to properly handle a firearm.
Ditto. Vultures and crows got to eat....
He really doesn’t look like the brightest bulb on the tree. I need to get a good luck at baby momma and sperm donor (the “parents”).
“good luck” = “good look”
Long day.
Will the school be torn down, ala Newtown? If not, what is the magic number of people who need to be killed in a school building to warrant tearing it down. Clearly some number between 0 and 24.
Or is it possibly the weapon used to slaughter the (in both cases) innocents: stolen AR vs stolen box cutter.
place just opened up i think and there was supposed to be a day tomorrow to show it off—doubt it’ll be torn down
Recent details include: changed to diff clothes after blood got on what he was wearing, dragged her body out using recycling bin and covered it with leaves; after seeing movie he bought a Wendy’s meal with her credit card...his family estranged from the dad (had been in military I think)
Yes. Regardless, evil is irrational by nature. Juries seem to understand this intuitively, if not explicitly, even in Massachusetts, because the insanity defense is rarely successful here.
I went to high school in an affluent Massachusetts town. I sat behind a kid who used to flip through movie stills from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," during class. He never carried books, just a packet of movie stills. He told me that his dad had built him a movie theater in the basement, where he used to watch "TCM" and "Squirm." He'd talk to me about his favorite scenes from "TCM" on a daily basis.
He scared the crap out of me. But it never entered my mind to talk to a teacher about him, since teachers and vice-principals had never done anything about bullies and school violence. I just tried to keep a "safe," low-profile.
Where is he now? He is now a movie producer. Here's Roger Ebert's review of his movie, "Chaos."
AFAIK, he hasn't murdered anyone, yet.
This is what he looks like today:
He calls himself, "The Demon."
looking at pictures is different from hiding out in school. One is way more proactive.
And bill the cost of the bullet to his family.
I wonder if he was on ADHD drugs.
Creepy classmate! Whew!
One my objections to police enforced, and compulsory K-1 socialist-entitlement schooling is the First Amendment violation of freedom of association.
Fundamentally,....The children are under police threat, in every K-12 socialist-entitlement school, to associate with those that government bureaucrats choose for them. The children and their parents have NO say in the matter.
The above is true even if the student sitting next to your child is flipping through stills of scenes from “The Chain Saw Massacre”.
