I’m a little bit hesitant to lump sociable insecurity pensioners ( the regular kind of people who paid in) with those on the dole. True, they all receive govt cheques. But At least the pension folks paid into it. Regardless of any problems in the soc sec program, These pensioners really do deserve to be evaluated with this fact in mind and not viewed as just more “ takers.” What do u think?

Through my taxes I've paid in to section 8, SNAP, unemployment 'insurance' (If the govt can arbitrarily decree that payouts are for 99 weeks then it isn't really insurance), and myriad other programs. I similarly didn't have a choice other than choosing not to be a productive person in the USA.

I have never made use of any of those benefits. If I did would I also get a pass and not be called a 'taker?'

I recommend that you read the entire article. Social security and medicare recipients are NOT included with these means tested programs. Add them into the mix and you have roughly a 1.5 to 1 recipient to full-time worker ratio.
