My family health insurance policy was cancelled by Blue Cross Blue Shield. A new policy that would be similar will be double the premium I'm paying on the cancelled policy plus an additional $2,700 deductible. A poster at FR mentioned looking into a Christian Healthcare Co-op. I did (Medi-Share) and we've applied. If accepted my premium (APH) will be half of the policy that has been cancelled and with the savings I'm meeting a Concierge Doctor who's practice does not take insurance.
No matter what happens with obamacare I won't go back to an insurance company. I love the idea that the Doctor works for me and doesn't answer to someone else and that my monthly payments are used to help other Christians in need.
