I have PhilHealth which cost next to nothing...about $50 per year for me and my family.
Medical cost here are very low, but from my experience they have been excellent. My young son was in the hospital for three days with a mild infection, but stuck with an IV. He had private room with TV and A/C. The bill was about $100.

As he didn’t say where he lives overseas, I wouldn’t assume he needs insurance. Absent the insane cost increases imposed by the western health bureaucracies there are places that medical expenses can be covered just fine out of pocket.
