Jon Stewart: Unlikely Conservative Hero? The comedian has been critical of the Obamacare website...
National Journal ^ | October 22, 2013 | Matt Vasilogambros

The comedian has been critical of the Obamacare website rollout. And with Stewart's young audience, this could prove problematic for the president.

There's an unlikely media hero for conservatives following the stumbled rollout of the Obamacare website: Comedy Central's Jon Stewart.

Stewart, whose topical political rants have made him a favorite among liberals, in recent weeks has been an honest and harsh critic of the Obama administration for its implementation of the president's signature health care legislation.

His latest show Monday evening is now making the rounds among conservative circles as a pointed takedown of the health care website's malfunctions and Obama's attempt to "polish this turd."

"Yes, apparently the Healthcare.gov website has 99 problems, but a glitch is all of them," Stewart said.

Several conservative voices, including The Blaze and Fox Nation, linked to Stewart's segment. It also received some Twitter attention from Republican groups, as well.

And two weeks ago, it was Stewart again whom conservative media hosts, pundits, and politicians alike cited after his interview with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. There, Stewart asked several difficult questions of the administration official leading the health care rollout, including why a one-year delay was granted for some businesses and not for individuals. Sebelius walked around many of the questions, and conservatives jumped on it...

“Yeah, and if pigs could fly, we could shoot our bacon out of the air.”

Probably a good thing they can’t. Can you imagine what the upshot would be if they developed diarrhea?

That stuff isn’t pleasant to be around even when the pigs are healthy.

Stewart is still a liberal POS, BUT...forward the video to everyone you know, especially liberals!

The skit turns owebamacare and owebama himself into a massive joke that will leave a stain on every Demonrat that WON’T wash out!

It’s not just about the website. It’s a bad law period.

He is NO hero!

He, and that creepy dude after him that is always in character, are flat-out socialists that DO NOT joke where O tells them is off-limits.

Make no mistake that THIS got too far out of hand for O to not admit that it is FUBAR. That is the only reason why this tard is even opening his mouth. If they had told him to cool it, he would have.

“Jon Stewart will savagely attack Ted Cruz or some other conservative tonight. Bet on it.”

Oh I’m sure he’s got lots of “helpful” tweets from the maniacs that listen to him, telling him that he got his licks in, now focus on keeping your job.

I'm not about to give Stewart any credit just because he found a nut. This guy helped elect jugears.

Same goes for whenever Chrissy Matthews or any other similar idiot makes an "Aha!" statement.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, ok?

Indeed, with his last interview with Sebelius, Stewart was arguing that Obama should have just gone straight to single-payer, while at the same time he was (very gently) teasing her about the failure of healthcare.gov

He apparantly can not see the great paradox and stupidity in his own position.

Telling me who farted in a room doesn’t make Stewart my hero.

Jon Stewart is no hero of mine. He's already said he wants the whole HUACA system scrapped for SINGLE PAYER. This is just a passive aggressive argument to get us there.

He is about as much a conservative hero as Stalin or Mao

Hard to say what the overall effect of this might be, but I do know that (unfortunately), many in Gen Y, 'Millenials', et al, get their political news and views from this guy, and the ones I know did not come away with a very happy impression of how the FedGov has performed here. And they're not blaming the GOP, either

"God, they totally f*cked it up", is a common refrain.

Huge opportunity here for the GOP. Send in Rand Paul, send in Mia Love and anyone else who’s fast on their feet. Stewart will come at you with a switchblade, but if you’re ready you can get a laugh.

Right now we need a full court press. Let Obamacare be the last ripple of failed government programs. Go at it and then add in things like jobs, education costs, the welfare trap, etc.

If you can begin to swing away Millenials you’ll have done yeoman’s work for future elections. Plus, we need to point out how illegal immigration is hurting black families and jobs.

When he figures out that the website screw ups are just symptoms of a far deeper problem, then he might be a hero.
