I say let the Saudis - a dictatorship - get pissed.

Maybe we should be courting Assad - another dictator but one who runs a secular non-Islamic fundamentalist government, as opposed to the Saudis (they have religious police, Assad does not), offering to become Assad’s next best friend, asking only a de-linkage of Syria with Iran and full, without the “Palestinians”, peace negotiations with Irreal over ONLY Israeli-Syrian issues and sans any “comprehensive” Middle East peace deal.

Someone could ask? Would such an agreement help produce a “more moderate” government in Syria? I can only return the question. Has our alliance of convenience with the House of Saud ever stimulated a “more moderate” government out of the Saudis? Or, another question might be - How many Syrians were either part of the 9-11 attacks or have been fighting for or on the side of the Taliban, and how many Saudis?
