"saying it was a better option than continuing to spend and run up debt."

The only problem is they did continue to spend ($328 billion added to the debt the day the ceiling was raised), and all the government workers will be paid.

It is going to be very interesting to see how all these candidates fare in the primaries against their establishment opponents. If there are a number of upsets then it might be an indication that the power within the GOP is changing. But if McConnell and Graham and Alenxander and Cornyn all win their primaries then I think the party is in a death spiral.

Agree...and, excellent points. I propose we keep a running state-by-state side-bar or Header reference of 2014 Senate and other races, here on FR. A few posters are doing this, to some degree, as posts on numerous threads. A running thread - or threads - to keep all info on, would be great. Posters could update with voting records, etc.

We've got to stay focused and this would not only help us to do that on each of these races, but to be used as a reference for other outlets, as well. We know that so many in the media use FR as their *show prep*...so this tool would be invaluable.

Just my 2¢.

I do daily searches on these races for interesting tidbits and I post what I find to the “elections” tab. So you can always go there for updates on a particluar race if the powers that be don’t want to set up a sidebar.

What I'm expecting from this entire bunch is the dems will help them win their primaries then the dems will run someone against them that is so far over the top everyone will say you have to just hold your nose and vote for the repub again because the dem is so bad.

The dems don't want their agenda to be pushed just by dems, then the dems are held accountable.

The dems want and need traitors in the repub party to push their agenda so they can claim it's bipartisan and the will of the majority of the people and only “right wing extremist” oppose it.

Well, Ted Cruz is getting excoriated.by every republican politician and pundit ( except a few Levin, Rush, Lee, Paul, a congressman from NO wouldnt touch criticizing Cruz last night on The World Over-smart guy) so it is not very attractive for weaker characters than he. And he is about the strongest character I’ve seen in a while

We got to try! Ted will keep them in line and we in the Tea Party must hold their feet to the fire so as to keep from becoming overly corrupt. We need 100 new tea Party focus Conservatives in House and Senate—Don’t forget the State houses and governorship as well! We must act now or Obama will act for us to rivot an iron shackle on us all— they want 100 years of Progresssive-Communism.

Rand Paul was on Mike Gallagher about an hour ago and he said he was supporting Mitch McConnell.

Rand Paul: GOP establishment bull in training.

In State Senators have a real tough time going against the other Senator. Don’t like Rand doing this either, but my “line in the sand” test will be if he campaigns for McConnell.

Rand should have taken the same tack as Ted Cruz, who has said he's not supporting or endorsing any incumbent races.

Like Rand, Ted is also the junior Senator from his state, but Rand is ball-less, and is rapidly being compromised by the establishment.

Bongino was a sacrificial lamb for the senate. He has a much better chance at a House race in a second Midterm. Great guy. Solid conservative.
