Graham Colson, an area resident for 15+ years who has been to Keene Pumpkin Fest for just as long, said the presence of snipers was unprecedented. He was able to take the above image of a two person sniper team on the rooftop of the Keene Apartments building overlooking Roxbury & Central Square earlier today.
KPD Confirms: "The pictures you put on your website were police officers."

Now that is what I call funny! The timing is perfect too. Thanks for the chuckles.
Their TRPs = stuff like the ice cream stand, pumpkin patch, bounce-house etc.
Thanks. You know that the red book is free on Kindle this week?
And the blue one will be next week.
That’s pretty sad.
You completely painted a Gary Larsen cartoon in my mind. Thanks. Well done.
Yep. And why undercover?
Didn’t want to wear their scary Gestapo black SWAT uniforms, with the face masks?
What sends a red flag up about this is when Jason Short was asked a question about the deployment of snipers he walks away. If he would have responded that there was a tip or threat of violence then the stationing of a sniper team would be understandable and the correct thing to do.
Yeah. “Dragon Bounce House: 465 meters.”
Plainclothes police officers. I didn’t see any rifles.
Calling them ‘snipers’ is over the top.
If they weren’t local, did the local leos get a grant of some type to hire them? Did they know them before hand? Were they military buddies of one or more of the local leos who got a sweetheart contract?
Inquiring minds.
New Hampshire? Maybe NSA intercept something? but they won’t tell the public?
Morons not exclusive to Boston then.
Exactly. They’re embarrassed about their team being photoed.
Wonder who took the photo?
Men in street clothes with rifles, on a roof staring down on a public gathering? Who’s brilliant idea was that?
And no doubt they’re making double overtime, and maybe even some hazardous duty pay (them Pumpkin Fests can be killing fields).
I think you just nailed it.
They were pumpkin artillery spotters.
Look between their ankles for the visible rifle. Scope on top facing left, just below the target range card.
I assume they were local LE, who made a choice between scary black SWAT uniforms, or “undercover” in ball caps.
Why not just blue “officer friendly” police uniforms? Don’t the SWAT snipers even have them anymore?
In a white neighborhood. There are different rules in the projects. BTDT.
Probably don’t want to wear the geeky uniforms if they have them.
I raised the question of funding because every little crossroads police department seems to have gotten bazillion dollars in federal funding for swat teams, MRAP’s and other ‘anti terrorism’ gear. Be nice to know who paid for these guys IF they weren’t locals. And IF they were locals, who paid their overtime.
I liked Flynn and Thor, especially their first ones....
..but I'm liking yours even more because it seems personal with reference to 'Free Americans and I understand where you're coming from and it just makes sense!....scary sense
