Shale gas companies operating in Europe will soon have to respect a muscular legislative package which the European Commission is preparing to publish in December or January, EurActiv has learned. This will almost certainly take the form of an unconventional fuels directive, similar to other EU laws covering wastewater and environmental impact assessments.

Russia has been using natural gas for economic leverage. We could export massive amounts of natural gas if the Obamorons in government would issue the export licenses.

Obama and Free Traders in both parties are working on a Free Trade deal with the EU....and you can bet we will have the same restrictions on our petro/natural gas production if the US-EU Trade Pact passes....esp for shale products headed to Europe

Canada just signed a free trade pact with the EU (CETA) — and there are no such restrictions on oil and gas production.
By far, the majority of opponents of free trade deals, here in Canada, are leftists and greenies.
