Certainly true. “Sociopaths,” however is the more accurate term for the particular breed of malicious perverts who occupy the halls of power.

Compare: "A lot of preschool children are noisy, a lot of noisy people are drunken college sports fans, thus a lot preschool children are drunken college sports fans." Sorry, that doesn't quite work as a syllogism

But nevertheless I think "a lot of people in power are child molesters" is something that should at least be investigated. It's not necessarily societal elites, though. Think of the power exercised by "mom's boyfriend" --- the category of person responsible for more child abuse than any other.
