Administration officials say about 476,000 health insurance applications have been filed through federal and state exchanges, the most detailed measure yet of the problem-plagued rollout of President Barack Obama's signature legislation.
However, the officials continue to refuse to say how many people have actually enrolled in the insurance markets. Without enrollment figures, it's unclear whether the program is on track.

Even that number is woefully bad.
Imagine, four times more people have signed up for a one way trip to Mars than Obamascare.
How many are young/middle age full rate payers? How many are Medicaid or free coverage?
Inquiring minds demand to know.
how many are correct? how many represent massive data leak because of crappy technology? how many are fully subsidized?
The mars trip sounds more palatable.
If your premium is $0, you’d be happy to file. I’m sure they’ll get a lot of those and very few of the ones that are supposed to altruistically shoulder the load.
“...that number is woefully bad...
-
And they are woefully the wrong people to keep the insurance companies viable.
“Administration officials say about 476,000 health insurance applications have been filed...”
What it really means: About 476,000 people have checked out obamacare and left. Three people accidentally got signed up and were so horrified that they had strokes. They may die, and obumacare won’t save them.
467000 “Filed”. Accepted? Well..
Definitely. We may have defeated Obamacare in those first two years when we blackened its name.
One way trip - no return. Same specs but probably cheaper.
So how is all this going to get paid for? Is Obama going to ask Congress for yet ANOTHER trillion to fund his commie boondoggle?
Difficult to say what that number means.
Here in Pennsylvania, individuals who apply for and are rejected for Medicaid are automatically referred by computer to the Obamacare exchanges.
Are these referrals considered to be “Obamacare applications”, even though that isn’t what the consumer wanted and it might not be that likely they’ll even pursue, much less write a check for an Obamacare policy?
Is the mere creation of an account counted as an “application”?
Unless there are definitions out there, exactly how close or how far away HHS is away from their goal really can’t even be estimated.
Probably better health care too.
But didn't Sebellius tell us just a few days ago that they would be releasing numbers monthly like other Gov't programs.
So now it's 6 weeks? And likely will be extended again to keep the public in the dark.
This is a mistake. Title should read, “476,000 filed their nails while waiting for 0bamacare ‘404’ error page”
LIE
If I understand the process, you have to apply before you get the real rate quote. They ask you for a whole bunch of information and there is no way to delete your account.
So, how many of these applicants will end up signing up for Obamacare Coverage and how many of the applications are fraudulent?
The Devil is in the Details, and the White (Spite) House.
