A few days ago a pit bull puppy was on the verge of death. His ears had been cut off, and then he was abandoned under a bridge at 69th Street in Upper Darby. Luckily, a woman found him on Wednesday and immediately contacted Melvin Buzz Miller at the Montgomery County-based PACT for Animals organization.
Miller advised the woman to take the puppy to Stoney Creek Veterinary Hospital, located in Ridley Township.
He was bleeding profusely from his ears, said Dr. Kelly Slattery, a veterinarian at Stoney Creek.
Slattery said it appears someone tried to crop the puppys ears with the intent of turning him into a so-called fighting dog later. Someone literally chopped his ears off close to the base of his skull with scissors or a knife, she said.

Unbelievable how many of the dogs turned in have horrible skin conditions that could have been easily treatable.
