House Speaker John Boehner just wanted to sneak out of the White House for a smoke.

But President Barack Obama pulled him aside for a grilling. Obama wanted to know why they were in the second day of a government shutdown that the speaker had repeatedly and publicly pledged to avoid.

“John, what happened?” Obama asked, according to people briefed on the Oct. 2 conversation.

“I got overrun, that’s what happened,” Boehner said.

Boehner confesses that he's more worried about pleasing Barry than anything else. It sounds like their relationship is real “cozy.”

Yes, it was a superficial analysis, but when I first saw a series of pictures of John Boehner out on a golf course with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, I deduced that the current speaker of the house had become nothing more than a satrap. I have tried to give Boehner credit when he was deliberately misquoted, etc, but I'm no longer in a mood to be magnanimous with these GOP-e eunuchs.

Exactly, it was a sellout from beginning to end. Boehner had already made the deal with Obama, and Ted Cruz came along, then Boehner was forced to go along with the farce.

Why else would Obama ask him what went wrong.

The article says that the shutdown itself was a matter of being overrun. One ramification of that is that Boehner was against the shutdown on any principle.

My theory: The Republicans planned this all along with the Democrats as a final solution to discredit and destroy the Tea Party. Plan was to have the Tea Party Candidates cause all this to happen, public gets mad, and the Rhino's come out looking good. People demand an end to Tea Party antics. The Dems are happy if that is the result because they know all the Rino’s want is to stay in power and live large. They know they need Rino’s in power to maintain the illusions that there is competition of ideas.
The problem is that Washington is isolated and has no understanding of the anger in the rest of the country. They do not know that this will be looked back on in 20 years as the beginning of the end.

The lashing humbled Cruz, who began to take a quieter role in the intervening days. But he continued to push forward on strategy that Republicans had essentially left for dead. At one point, Cruz told GOP senators that they should force votes on bills to fund individual agencies and programs, like on veterans issues. But McConnell bluntly told Cruz that Republicans had no procedural way of doing that. In fact, he asked Laura Dove, McConnell’s chief floor expert, to explain to Cruz how Republicans were prohibited from taking such a parliamentary tactic.

A genius he is not. Even I knew that tactic was prohibited by Senate rules. You would think he could read the rules of the place that pays him $174,000 a year (even during a shutdown).

An orange juice can, could replace Boehner. He and McConnell are easily replaceable. I would pick Rep. McClintock from California who accurately and intelligently explained how not raising the debt ceiling would only cause default if Obama refused to pay the interest and principal on the debt. Of course, the GOP media completely ignored this fact.

I am as unstinting as anyone in excoriating the House “leadership” in their recent capitulations and blunders. But, in the case of the Sequester, the fellow you should be directing your vein of bile at is Il Douche, and Chuck Hagel. For it is they who determined where and how to spend the funds given them, and, like the Park Service in the recent “shutdown” they did their level best to wield their budgetary knives in a way to cause as much pain and trouble as they could. Your reaction to their actions is precisely what they wanted.

Don’t play Il Douche’s game. Keep your eyes on the real enemy. Boehner, Ryan and Cantor will be taken out in time for not putting up a fight on the important matters against a spiteful White House. Soon we may have some people with more fire in their bellies...

The rinos did not come out looking good to the media or the people. They just proved to conservatives that rinos are the enemy. The Tea Party came out looking like they always look. The media, the left and the republican party hates them. Most of America loves what they stand for.

So nothing changed other than to show the world obama has no opposition other than the Tea Party. So, get rid of them and obama has NO opposition. And obama owns obamacare.
