Finally DC finds a person they can fire. They can’t even fire Major Hasan, but they will find a way to fire her.
Her husband, Dan, told Fox: My wife is a sweet, level-headed wonderful woman of God. I am proud of her.
Once all the "nutcases" (as defined by Congress and their security forces) are hauled off and away from Capitol Hill, only the wicked will be left to fall into the sinkhole.
Last time was in DC - a decade ago - that was what I saw on Capitol Hill-- literally (a giant hole). It was at the time of the excavations for the new visitors center. My immediate impression was something like, "Wow, the whole of Congress and the USSC could get sucked down a sinkhole right there.. gee what a location.. isn't that quite the visual. Wonder how the new underground facility will hold up over time (or not)..."
Well anyway that's the image I've had of the place ever since then. It comes vividly to mind at least once a year, at the time of the SOTU address (when they all file in). For some reason the vision of the sinkhole has come early this time around..
And on the topic of scenes that stick in the mind by virtue of being the "last look"...
On the same visit the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was empty. Sucked dry. A waste and desolation. We walked right down the middle of it. It was another odd vision, with probably more "reflection" going on than if it were its normal self.
There was no construction or equipment or barricades, just the dry pool. IIRC it had something to do with filters not working properly so there had been an algae problem, thus it had been drained to dry it up and get rid of the slime. The slime problem must have been another hint.
