I recall in “Atlas Shrugged” that Ayn Rand wrote about those in leadership who traded on “pull” like it was a commodity.

I think we are there in the US now. Republicans and Democrats now vote to allow themselves to trade in “pull.”

That’s how Kentucky gets a dam.

The public good is for a small subset of the public, the ruling elite.

She called it "The Aristocracy of Pull" (Part I, Chapter 12), the ability to trade men, instead of money.

The movie for Part II has a great scene of Francisco d'Anconia discussing this very subject at James Taggert's wedding.
