Lonegan did lose but the biggest problem in our politics today is that we dismiss all those people whose candidate lost. Congress represents the ones who sent them there, literally, only their party, their supporters. As far as they're concerned the rest of their constituents don't exist.
Losing isn't everything and maybe we can someday get back to the place where an American citizen is represented whether the elected official was their choice or not.
