The Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC), a group with ties to Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Jim DeMint and other prominent liberty minded and Tea Party conservatives, is officially endorsing upstate Senator Lee Bright over Lindsey Graham and others in the 2014 South Carolina Senate race. This endorsement is a startling development in the race considering national RLCs stature, the timing of the support and the zeal with which they endorse Senator Bright.
Matt Nye, Chairman of the National RLC said in a statement that the outcome of the South Carolina Senate race will be a major factor in determining the future of [the Republican Party and Washington DC], adding that Lindsey Graham represents everything that is wrong with both. In choosing Bright over some other competitors, Nye stated that Bright is a proven, principled advocate of individual rights, limited government and free enterprise who possesses both the skills and worldview we need to turn Washington, and the country, around."
The upstate Senator, who is very much at home with all liberty and Tea Party groups was enthusiastic and said RLCs move was an incredible boost to our campaign at such an early stage. The Republican Liberty Caucus is a terrific organization that is known for backing candidates who are passionate about defending liberty, as they were also the first to endorse Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee during their campaigns. I'm proud that my voting record in the South Carolina state Senate has earned me the privilege of this endorsement."
S.C. RLC Chairman Scott Pearson said that Sen. Lee Bright is a friend of liberty who knows the issues that South Carolinians care about. As businessman who understands all too well the difficult economic times, Lee Bright stands for economic liberty. Pearson also touched on Brights unusual ability to bring all conservatives together, adding that as a man of faith, he stands for religious liberty; and as a man of great personal character, he stands for personal liberty. Unlike the incumbent, he brings a principled message of individual freedom that will unify, rather than divide, the Republican majority."
The release from Lee Bright and his campaign.
It is an important endorsement. Graham needs to be gone.

Please Lord let Graham be the first example made of our worthless RINO leadership.
This is very major endorsement....and to be issued so strongly and so early...even more so.
Given the field, it makes sense, but kudos to national RLC for vetting the field so thoroughly and so early.
Certainly prepared to pray and fast for Bright over Graham.
All loose change and old gold teeth need to be rounded up and fired into the Bright campaign to knock Graham out post haste.
Any of you locals, does it look like we should throw our support behind Lee Bright or Nancy Mace?

Did you read the press release? Ted is answering your question.
Joe Carr to oust Lamar Alexander in TN
Lee Bright to oust Lindsey Graham in SC
Dr. Milton Wolf to oust Pat Roberts in KS
J D Winteregg to oust John Boehner in OH-8
PLEASE, contact Louie Gohmert and tell him we want to add his name as opposing Cornyn
Lindsay Graham - Charlie Crist without the tan
Hey, not bad! Of course, Crist played QB at Wake Forest. I wonder if LG was a male yell leader, like Trent Lott was!!! (true story)
BUMP!
“The Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC), a group with ties to Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Jim DeMint and other prominent liberty minded and Tea Party conservatives, is officially endorsing upstate Senator Lee Bright over Lindsey Graham ..... “
“male yell leader” ...Call it what it is....Cheerleader.
Yes, I saw this particular release and understand that they endorsed him. I also have heard a lot a good stuff about Mace. I wanted to hear opinions from the locals about what they were sensing on the ground in S.C.
I guess my point is, splitting the vote early on got us Mitt. Let’s pool all resources in one camp quicker this time. I am willing to help with my dollars, I just want to see us focus our efforts.
Focus is good, but it's also important that the candidates be allowed to compete. No point in settling early on a candidate only to find that he has a habit of emitting Howard Dean-like yells at inappropriate moments or making unscripted Akin-like remarks to the media.
Linda’s been in the senate too long.
George W. Bush was also a cheerleader in college, wasn’t he?
