This would explain why the market’s up this morning.

Insiders knew this already.

The House (and probably Senate) will be won or lost need on how well the Republicans can exploit the implosion of healthcare.gov and ObamaCare.

The Republicans can claim that they blinked for the good of the country and to avoid the effects of a President who was pushng the nation into default to avoid a one year delay in his very, very broken healthcare system.

People are already seeing the problems with Obamacare, and are really going to hate it. And they’ll assign blame for it accordingly.

This is the equivilant of letting the rope go in a tug of war. Over Thanksgiving and Christmas families will be talking about how much Obamacare sucks, not a default.

Stay home, and cut off their noses to spite their faces and give Pelosi a chance to do more REAL damage to this country.

If this is true, Republicans deserve the moniker Stupid Party.

Vote that SOB out of the speaker position ASAP. Send him to his neighborhood bar so he can whine in his brew.

Lets wait and see. We get so much garbage from media and most of it is to discourage us.

It hasn’t been brought to floor yet. Should be at noon after senate briefed. McConnell believes he has Unami pus consent so a quick vote it will pass with 60-65 senators, and the Boehner will put it on floor. It will pass with at least 100 republican votes and almost all of Dems. Total capitulation. The shut down is and was a disaster.

Bob Costa is a big gov shill backing up his own predictions from yesterday on MSNBC (Yes, I suffer through Rachel Madcow so other FReepers don't have too).

I will believe it when I see it, since Boneher is only motivated by political-self preservation.

Except that Reid can't get unanimous consent to move the Senate bill, so there isn't anything for Boehner to cave on.

All the defeatism is premature. There will be plenty of time for lamentations when something actually happens.

I think he can kiss his speakership goodbye.

I don't think he cares about that.
He already said he wouldn't seek the speakership position again.
And I believe he wants to be removed now anyway.

lol....unanimous consent? Don’t think so. It’ll likely be a large majority. But unanimous? No way.

“Everybody seems to be rushing to embrace a defeat that hasn’t happened, and isn’t even set up to happen yet.”

Somehow, we can’t help ourselves. We act like moths being helplessly drawn to a light. :-(

No fillibuster they changed the rule back in Jan.
Now:
http://blogs.rollcall.com/wgdb/debt-limit-deal-could-test-new-floor-procedure/
Eliminates the right to filibuster a motion to proceed if the majority leader permits up to four amendment votes.

If the majority leader wants to bring up a bill, he can get a vote to do so four hours after he files a motion to proceed.

At least two amendments from the majority and two from the minority must be allowed.

If one of the first four amendments isn’t germane to the bill, it will be subject to a 60-vote threshold for passage.

It’s clear sailing in the senate. Mitch gets to put two (embarassing to Democrats) amendments to a vote then off it goes to the House.
