Agree. I suspect she, like my own elderly mother, refuses to see the danger, and change her circumstances. Life comes full circle. It’s hard for folks to accept, but those places, people, and things that were a threat to you at age five, return at age 75.
The Ripkens are a stubborn lot. I coached little league with Cal’s brother Fred and have met all of them and have spent time in their house (helluva a lot of memorabilia). Vi lives in the same house that she raised her family in. She won’t move. Though, you’d think at this point they’d hire a body guard, since it is illegal to defend yourself in Murderland.
