Negotiation is like any skill, it takes practice. But at the simplest level there are a few rules that must be followed. The first rule is that you must negotiate as if you expect to win. When the conservatives in the house passed the bill to defund Obamacare Boehner should not have wavered. He should have embraced Cruz and thanked him for carrying the water.

When the GOP leadership goes into a negotiation expecting to lose, they will lose.

Boehner is Obama’s greatest asset.

No spine, no guts, no gonads, and absolutely no concern for We The People or the country. It’s an ego thing and quest for power.

Expecting Boehner or any RINO to do the right thing and stand strong is asking alot of the spineless jellyfish faction of the GOP.

Why the GOP loses so often (Negotation 101)

Because Republicans always want to make nice (except when it comes to other Republicans).

1. No brains.
2. No beliefs (in anything other than their limp wristed selves).
3. No ability to do anything if they lose their jobs.
4. No courage.

Pretty much says RINO, not?

I think that is EXACTLY right.

The GOP has trained itself that the way to win a fight, is to fight someone else in the GOP.

The GOP is (hate to say it) but, a bit afraid of Democrats.

Democrats know this.

The GOP needs to quit rolling over for Democrats, and go after them.

No, the media swapped them for a dog, and the dog ran away.

Yes...Rule #1 is Never negotiate with yourself. Our guys do it every time. They started about 8 minutes after they got into office in January 2011.

They need to make their position, vote on it and then take it to the American people. They re-vote and re-vote to ‘look reasonable’, but still take most of the heat for being inflexible. The White House with Reid doing it’s bidding for three years now just stay in one position and don’t even need to try.

Our side refuses to change tactics and go on the offensive. They just do ‘update’ press statements to ‘show’ they are working hard. They don’t make a case. It is bush league on their part, and they do it every time.

Reagan in Iceland negotiating nuclear talks with the Soviets was a classic case study on how to negotiate.

Negotiation 102. Sometimes you let the other side win a hard fought battle to set them up for losing the war. Now, do I think the GOPe is smart enough to have done that? Of course not.

Instead we have a group of pseudo intellectuals who completely miss the point that you have to open with a strong position.

Reid and Pelosi were solidly behind their leader. Didn't give an inch.

McConnell, King, Fox, Corker, two bit senators and congressmen where trying to open up other lines of negotiation and diluting the Cruz initiative.

We were sold out before we could get started.

Excellent points. The lib media is desperately trying to spin this as a loss for Republicans and conservatives. But if Sen. Cruz can stand strong, the idiotic media will finally have to eat crow.
