Can someone please tell FOX that it's the Congressional Medal of Honor, not the President's MoH. Congress awards it, not the President! What are they trying to get us to believe?

Yes: It is a crying shame that he has to receive this Award from a man who despises the military and shut down the WW2 Memorial for spite.

The contempt Obama has for the military, except when it is useful to him, is obvious. But, today he got to say a few nice words. It’s all about image.
They could, but that would be wrong. The official name of the decoration is the Medal of Honor. The private society is called the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, reflecting the tradition that the award was created in the name of Congress. The award is typically presented by the President in person, or if not by him, by the highest ranking available member of the chain of command. It is not presented by the Congress as a body or by any member of Congress.
It is neither the Congressional Medal of Honor, nor is it the President’s Medal of Honor. It is simply the Medal of Honor.
There exists The Congressional Medal of Honor Society, but that refers to the society of MoH awardees not the medal itself. It (the society) was established by congress during the Eisenhower presidency.
The timing is beyond suspicious - after crapping on the military for a few weeks, his handlers suggested throwing them a bone.

No Conservative, and no real American does not believe that Capt. Swenson deserves the Medal of Honor.
However, there are far too few who would have the bravery and fortitude to not accept the Medal of Honor from this president.
It is the bravery of Capt. Swenson and those who would stand up to Obama in such a public forum, by refusing the Medal of Honor, that keeps me from losing faith in our country.
It would be sweet if Major Swenson had any time at the podium, to chastise the “government shutdown” for dissing the military and veterans. He could do it indirectly, without naming 0bama.... just say something about how sad it is that whoever makes those decisions have elected to insult the heroes....

I might add, that if I were to be awarded the MoH, I would not accept it from this president, and I am the 7th generation of commissioned officers in my family.
Better yet, accept the medal on behalf of all veterans, make a statement about their conditions, and thank the military for the award, and say NOTHING about Zero whatsoever.
