By all accounts, the roll out of Obamacares insurance exchanges has been a fiasco of epic proportions. But diehard supporters claim that this is a minor roadblock that wont affect the laws long-term future. Obamacare is here, lectured liberal columnist Eugene Robinson. Get used to it.
Robinson might be right. Then again when funny man Jon Stewart echoes Tea Party wackos to demand a one-year delay of the individual mandate, the lynchpin of the edifice, you know all is not well. And Stewart is hardly alone. CNN anchor Wolfe Blitzer is also recommending a delay.
The reality is that the way President Obama ramrodded this law through Congress has left him very little margin for error. The next couple of months will make or break the program.
Two weeks into the launch and its problems only keep multiplying. Consumers still cant log into the federal exchange website, let alone compare plans, apply for the promised subsidies and buy coverage. The sitewhose staggering $634 million construction cost is more than that of LinkedIn and Spotify combinedhas already been shut down once for repairs, but the problems persist.
Thing are so bad that the administration wont even reveal basic information about enrollment rates. Nor will it make its IT folks available to explain the technical glitches, insisting that pent up demand is overwhelming capacity.
But experts whom Reuters consulted believe that the architecture of the websites is fundamentally flawed and needs to be radically overhauled. For example, when individuals apply for coverage, the website automatically opens over 90 separate files and plugins to stream information from the users computer. The flood of traffic paralyzes the connection.

I wonder which 1940’s German columnists wrote “Concentration Camps are here, get use to it”?
I think by next year at election time the news will be out on how much of a failure it is...it will be a terrible law...cost over runs in the trillions...and terrible health care...good for paper pushers is all it is..thousands more of those will be hired...
Let’s face some facts. The first and foremost is that the advocates of Obamacare, Man Made Global Warming, and other such insanities, are true believers in these things out of religious motives. Not “God believing” religion, but religion none the less.
If you took a secular fanatic and put him in the same room with a murderous Muslim Taliban, if you could keep them from murdering each other for a few minutes, they would soon find that their belief systems have much in common, at least in how they practice it.
Superb examples of such secular fanaticism were found in the Soviet Union, where their secular orthodoxy was so in denial of reality that it made a stark contrast. With their horribly polluted landscape, continual near starvation, murderous authoritarian police state, slave labor, and utter despair among their people, these “true believers” insisted that they were living in a “people’s paradise”, a utopia of happiness and prosperity never seen before in the world.
And their fanatical western counterparts, who had seen life in the west, when they toured this vision of misery, all they could see was paradise. Conversely, the saw life in the west in equally bizarre, but negative, even horrible ways, oblivious to reality.
People who had taken enormous amounts of LSD and experience severe hallucinations could not be more self deceived.
And these are the people in America who are the real advocates of Obamacare, and truly believe in Man Made Global Warming. As far as they are concerned, America is worse than how we see North Korea. Though they probably imagine that North Korea is a far better place than America.
So seriously, how can you negotiate with insane people?
If it is not repealed then pubs should be ensuring it is implemented fully, now, as written into law, with no exemptions and no waivers. Give the people what they asked for, in full, and do not let the dems delay until after 2014 elections. Why are laws no longer applied to all?
Fat chance, pubs are part of the same party as the dems. They’ve all been re-elected at 90%+ rates for decades by Americans too stupid to handle write-ins or vote for an alternative party.
No waivers, no exemptions, for some and not others. Pubs will never repeal this, they want it as bad as the dems. The pubs only problem is how to make it appear otherwise.
Um.
Republicans really need to pass the House bill.
Now.
To have something to support. This is how we got in this mess.
Pass the House bill. First.
You can’t. The only logical strategy in dealing with these brain-addled losers: Defeat them. Ridicule them. Shun them. Arrest them. Imprison them.
This strategy would work IF, and only if, “Obamacare” was intended to function.
It is, however, not intended to function at all. It is a purpose-built takedown, designed to destroy what exists to plow the road towards a bright shining socialist future.
As such, objections that it is dysfunctional, or collapsing, or imploding, are beside the point. Implosion is the whole object of the thing.
It is working perfectly, as designed.
I’ve been saying this for a while now. Its past the point of exchanging ideas.
INCONVENIENT FACTOID one story surfaced last week that the same crew that got the contract for the ObamaCare website were former data/media/social media people from the Obama campaign.
INCONVENIENT FACTOID Toni Townes-Whitley, Senior Vice President at CGI Federal for Civilian Agency programs, is Princeton Class of 1985---same dumbed-down class as Michelle Obama. Both are members of Association of Black Princeton Alumni.

A GLIMPSE OF WHAT'S TO COME A November 30, 2012 Cato.com report indicated the Insurance Exchanges will cost Twice What it Costs to Administer Medicare (NOT what the WH twit told Americans).
ONE STATE'S LAUNCH--- In March 2013 CATO.COM reported "The Cost to Launch the California Health Insurance Exchange is $910 million".
So far (2012) California has received $910 million in federal grants to launch its new health insurance exchange under the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare"). The California exchange, "Covered California," has so far awarded a $183 million contract to Accenture to build the website, enrollment, and eligibility system and another $174 million to operate the exchange for four years.
The state will also spend $250 million on a two-year marketing campaign. By comparison California Senator Barbara Boxer spent $28 million on her 2010 statewide reelection campaign while her challenger spent another $22 million.
The most recent installment of the $910 million in federal money was a $674 million grant. The exchange's executive director noted that was less than the $706 million he had asked for. "The feds reduced the 2014 potential payment for outreach and enrollment by about $30 million," he said. "But we think we have enough resources on hand to do the biggest outreach that I have ever seen."
For additional perspective....private insurance marketing site, Esurance sells not only health insurance but also things like homeowners and auto insurance across the country......author put his zip code into their system along with his age, they offered him 87 different health plans from all the big players in my area.
Now granted, the new health insurance exchanges are more complex because they have to interface with Medicaid and the IRS as well as calculate subsidies. But the order of magnitude difference in what it cost to launch esurance compared to the California exchange is pretty big.
Privately funded Esurance began its multi-product national web business in 1998 with an initial $5.5 million round of venture fund investment in 1999 and a second round of $34 million a few months later.
The start-up experience of other major web companies is also instructive. Facebook received $13.7 million to launch in 2005. eBay was founded in 1995 and received its first venture money in 1997$6.7 million.
Even doubling these private investments for inflation still leaves quite a gap.

Michael Moore, please answer the White phone. There is a mockumentary waiting to be made. Mel Brooks may come out of retirement to advise.
......as one with MUCH experience dealing with “governmental entities”, my preference is that government needs to just NEVER do anything. That said, I can understand the high costs to some degree because dealing with government morons is VERY EXPENSIVE and time consuming and there is just no limit to “COSTS” once you (private enterprise) start marching down the road with them.
Not a good analogy. The difference being Obamacare is not here, it’s not working. Concentration camps were staffed and working exactly as planned.
A VAST undertaking from a half-vast organizer!
Obamacare is the Walmart EBT card looter fiasco at a hospital, Dr’s office, Dentist.... near you.
But, that will take years to implement. So we all lose the insurance we have . . . either because it is cancelled or because we cancel it when the price of it triples . . . and we just do without in the meantime?
I am amazed by how few people realize that it was designed to fail.
Even here.
