I doubt there are enough votes in the house to impeach him. I don’t doubt the NSA has dirt on most of the house.
There is nothing to prevent the House from impeaching the guy now, except the lack of political will. Andrew Johnson was impeached simply for frustrating the will of Congress. That does not mean it is a wise course, nor does it mean it is wise. It is basically a means of holding the Executive in check. Given that it is so seldom used, does mean that we dont know how it would function. On the other hand, if we can keep the lawyers off any panel, it is not bound by precedent.
