Swiss radiation experts have confirmed they found traces of polonium on clothing used by Yasser Arafat which "support the possibility" the veteran Palestinian leader was poisoned.
In a report published by The Lancet at the weekend, the team provide scientific details to media statements made in 2012 that they had found polonium on Arafat's belongings.
Arafat died in France on November 11 2004 at the age of 75, but doctors were unable to specify the cause of death. No autopsy was carried out at the time, in line with his widow's request.
His remains were exhumed in November 2012 and samples taken, partly to investigate whether he had been poisoned -- a suspicion that grew after the assassination of Russian ex-spy and Kremlin critic Alexander Litvinenko in 2006.

What an ugly sonofabitch.....
I thought he died from a car accident. He was rear ended.
Yeah, definitely AIDS.
Sad that he probably took untold young slave boys with him.
Maybe the Russians got tired of him. They’ve been implicated in polonium poisoning — look up the death of Alexander Litvinenko.
Bump!
I still can’t believe he was only 75. He looked like he was at least 80 for the last 30 years of his life.
Yep, many rumors at the time that he died of Aids!
He liked little boys who where passed around for ‘candy’
To quote Hillary...what difference does it make now?
Well good riddance to him!
The missus lived most of her time living in France, Paris I believe.
Missus = Beard.
Or, what I read at the time of his demise.
As far as I know, Russia is the only power which has used polonium as a weapon. Which brings up the question, why would Russia have wanted to do in Arafat?
Then again, maybe Mossad did do it, hoping for the small bonus of having their achievement pinned on the Russians. However, that doesn't fit the chronology: Arafat died in 2004, but Litvinenko's assassination took place late in 2006 and is the first known case, I believe, of polonium's use as a weapon.
They didn't identify polonium as the cause of Litvinenko's illness until a few days before he died. However, once they did, Scotland Yard found traces all around London where Litvinenko and his assassins had been, and the trail led across Europe to Germany and and pointed east to the Former Evil Empire.
Most likely theory: the wogs are hoping to rebut the theory Arafat died of AIDS.
The article reviews every possible cause of death for Arafat, AIDS being one of many possibilities, including that in fact his death was caused by AIDS.
AIDS In September 2005, based on obtained Arafat records, an Israeli AIDS expert claimed that Arafat bore all the symptoms of AIDS, while The New York Times claimed it was highly unlikely that Arafat died from AIDS.[22] and John Loftus reported on ABC radio that Arafat had died of AIDS.
According to Loftus, the CIA had knowledge of his condition, and convinced Israel not to assassinate him and wait for his inevitable death of the disease, since the subsequent widespread connotations of the disease with homosexuality would discredit him.[59]
An article published in a number of American news publications rejected the assertion that Arafat had AIDS, stating, "An Israeli infectious disease specialist said he would have performed the test, if only to be thorough and to refute the rumors that surrounded the case. He said news accounts during Arafat's illness made him strongly suspect that Arafat had AIDS.
But after studying the records, he said that was improbable, given the sudden onset of the intestinal troubles", though AIDS-associated opportunistic infections such as cryptosporidiosis can begin in this way. This same article also states that it is "highly unlikely" that Arafat had died from poisoning, and further asserts that Arafat had died from a stroke linked to an "underlying infection."[60][61]
Ahmed Jibril the head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, stated that a senior member of the PA delegation told him Arafat died of AIDS, what he was told was 'Frankly, the French gave us the medical report and the cause of Arafat's death was AIDS.'"[62]
Arafat's personal doctor, Dr. Ashraf Al-Kurdi, stated publicly on several occasions that Arafat contained the HIV virus, and that Arafat died of AIDS.[63]
Later in another interview on Arabic network, Al Jazeera, he was cut off from the live broadcast, and was quoted as saying "someone injected HIV into Arafats body before he died and that the real cause of the Palestinian leaders death was poison."[64]
In 2012, investigations based on documentation provided by Suha Arafat found that there was no symptoms or signs suggesting AIDS.
He had his own version of reggie love.
I would think that was obvious. Isn't that how it most often happens? And it could have even been from an innocuous little prick.
They’re all innocuous little pricks.
No surprise there.
