We get ours at the local Co-op. Jungs sells it too. I use it to keep ants out of her food dispenser. I pour a circle about 12” in diameter, sprinkle a bit in the middle and then put her dispenser in the middle of that. I’ve only had to pour out 2 batches of food this summer so far. Which is far different from my having to feed her twice a day to make sure she ate everything and didn’t have an ant nest in her food bowl within hours.

I sprinkle it around the perimeter of her carport too, inside, to make sure other buggy things leave her alone. I’ve never found a tick on her either. We discussed putting her on the flea pill stuff but decided to see if the DE stuff would work. So far so good and we’ve had her 6 years now. I just pilled her with the heartworm stuff last week in fact. She’s easy to pill now. She won’t eat it herself but i guess it isn’t so gross that it takes 2 people to do the pilling.

She’s getting on and getting those gray grizzled patches on her snout :( . I know it’s only a matter of time though. I try to feed her as much ‘real’ protein as I can. She gets leftover eggs and stuff along with any meat discards. She seems to be in pretty good shape still, not overweight at all. Definitely not emaciated either.

I’ll hate to see her go. She’s very sweet and a great guard dog. She doesn’t ‘bark bark’ when someone drives up on walks by, she ‘WOOF WOOF WOOF!’s’ UPS guy always asks if she’s ‘up’ before he gets out of the truck LOL.

My mail lady has mine trained, she brings them each a huuuggge “puppy cookie” everytime she comes, and one extra “just in case”, lol. They love her!

Mine are spoiled to the extent that they’re used to me (stay at home homemaker) being here all the time with them. All they want to do is hang with me. When my husband leaves on business, they take it in stride (except that his special “baby” sulks a bit then starts sucking up to me), but they have a fit when I have to run errands. My mother will be down this week to visit and she’s not a dog person at all, but she warms up to them after a day or so :) They’re all really just big babies except my one smaller one, a Jack Russell. I don’t know what his early life was like, but he’s one feisty little neurotic and possessive terror! He tries to keep my husband from coming near me, lol! I’ve had him for years and can’t change his behavior. Oh well, he’d be the first one to chew a leg off if someone tried to break into my home while my husband’s away. I worry more about them getting hurt, than protecting me, I have a trusty “equalizer” for that.

I apologise to all for all the off-topicness, ‘fraid I do that when it comes to my dogs!
