Real Indians on real reservations jokingly refer to members of their tribe who have made good and gotten a job in DC as “Washington Redskins.” I know because I’ve been there.
Of course it’s not an insult to actual American Indians. But pointing their boney fingers and screeching “racism” is an important source of attention for liberals. It’s a type of slander that is easy to fabricate and creates a false moral high ground from which they can look down on others. The self-perception of how “good” they are is inversely proportional to how they can paint others.
