The controversy over Orson Scott Card's opposition to gay marriage appears to have simmered down. Maybe it'll kick up again as the Ender's Game premiere closes in, but it shouldn't—Card's religious objection to gay marriage is shared by a substantial minority of Americans, and holding it against him is a little pat. The actual outrage over what's happening to gay Russians appears to have captured all the anger being directed Card's way.
That's good! The gay marriage foofarah was a distraction from Card's much more fascinating political paranoia. His last column on politics is a sort of masterpiece of that genre, starting with the grouping of "George W. Bush lied about WMDs in Iraq" among "politically useful lies," and continuing with a fantasy of how Barack Obama will stay in power forever.

Here on Earth, Obama has actually signed off on a series of compromises that fell short of what he demanded—the health care law, the debt limit increases—and he's only the latest president to appoint a series of advisers who are termed "czars." I live in a suburban area but I’m from and still have a home in a rural area. I’m not at all unsure that it won’t come down to something like this. The problem for the urban gangs, though, is that they are vastly outnumbered.
I’m not a “prepper” but I do spend time thinking about how I’d get out of the urban area if the SHTF. Routes I’d take. Things I’d take and things I’d leave. Always keep at least half a tank in the pickup because that’ll get me to the ranch where and we have gas there. I hate to think about it, but, I’m afraid not to.

It bears repeating: he gets away with this because of Congress. Whether by their action or inaction, nearly every single one of them is complicit.
He paid them off using community organizers to pass out money and other benefits. They murdered many of the military who remained loyal to the ideals of Simon Bolivar and opposed to corruption.

Obama has to be stopped soon. Chavez's initial Chavista recruiting soon moved to other population centers in the country including Maracaibo, Valencia, Maracay and eventually the entire country.
An amnesty for illegal aliens in this country would just make it easier for Obama to obtain a total dictatorial grip on the entire country.

Most grocery stores have only a four-day supply of food on hand, thanks to “just-in-time” logistics. Your local gas station gets a new fuel shipment daily; without that delivery, their tanks would run dry in less than 24 hours.
Now, imagine any scenario that incites mass social panic. It could be a natural disaster, a financial collapse, a nuclear detonation by terrorists in a major city, or a combination of factors. When that happens, the thin blue line evaporates and control passes to the strongest tribe, to borrow a phrase from Bing West. Within days—perhaps hours—you’d see street gangs battling each other and occupying large chunks of major and medium-sized cities. After looting urban areas, they will prey on the suburbs, particularly in states with strict gun laws.
About that time, you’ll see tens of thousands of city dwellers and suburbanites trying to flee to the countryside. Governors and local officials in those areas will have to establish check points to keep most of them out, and mobilize the national guards against the gangs, which will try to extend their control—and plunder needed resources in outlying areas.
I’m not a prepper, either, but I maintain enough guns and ammo to defend myself and my wife; I’ve got a portable supply of non-perishable food and enough physical gold to get some gas on the road. It’s 19 hours to my property in a southern state, and my plan is to try to get there ahead of the stampede, God willing.

Again, the Democrats believe this crap. But so what?
They believe that soldiers are soldiers because they are too dumb to cook fries in a fast food joint. Democrats believe that if you hand someone a Glock .40, they will be just as effective at soldiering as a real soldier who they despise so much.
Take 500 gang bangers armed with Glocks, and put them up against an infantry platoon from the 82nd ABN, carrying their own personally owned weapons.
Would anybody bet on the gang bangers to win? Would any of the gang bangers even survive?
