It amazes me how unprepared a lot of people are in the groceries/cooking department. I have plenty of food not only for an emergency, but because I buy ahead on things that are on sale.

It would suck if I went to the grocery store and couldn’t pick up fresh things like milk, fruit, or vegetables.....but I sure wouldn’t be going hungry for a good long while.

I had the wind knocked outta me financially last year and my "stock" kept me afloat for a while. I didn't like how much I depleted myself, but it served its purpose. I learned from that experience and have since re-built my stock from my learning. You are right, some things we have to go without, but feeling a bit of pain tends to make the more intelligent among us learn to plan better.

I'm at about four, maybe five months if I conserve heavily on my stock, in a total "shelter in place" scenario (i.e., I won't have to leave my property at all). Still, I feel un-easy and am looking for every little bit I can plan for.

Coupled with 34 states having "computer glitches" with zero-care and now 17 (hmm..half of 34? ironic I guess) with ebt computer problems; color me skeptical about what is going on here.
