The bottom line is people who couldn’t afford health insurance in the first place are still not going to be able to afford it - only this time the government has an excuse to make them even more poor by stealing whatever pennies they have left. Welcome to communism 101.

Yep, blatant lies by 0bummer and the Rats to shove this down everyone’s throats and now they ignore the truth that’s surfacing.

Commies would be proud and in fact those inside our government are, and there are many.

Welcome to communism 101.

It's more like fascism.

Well said. If you cannot afford the government health insurance, that justifies the government in demanding by penalty of law the payment of a fee.

The fee in 2014 is 1% of your yearly income or $95 per person for the year, whichever is higher. The fee increases every year. In 2016 it is 2.5% of income or $695 per person, whichever is higher.

In 2014 the fee for uninsured children is $47.50 per child. The most a family would have to pay in 2014 is $285.

It’s important to remember that someone who pays the fee won’t get any health insurance coverage. They still will be responsible for 100% of the cost of their medical care.

his co-pay for emergency room visits almost tripled -- from $125 to $350

I wonder what his deductible is going to be. When I looked at the silver and bronze plans the emergency room care had a flat fee, but it was after the deductible had been met

The kicker is that the deductible, even on the silver plan, was $2500 per individual/$5000 per family. On the bronze plan the deductibles and max out of pocket were the same $5200/$10,400. Better not get sick a lot. The price will kill you.

“The bottom line is people who couldn’t afford health insurance in the first place are still not going to be able to afford it...”

And it seems like many who COULD afford it now won’t be able to.

It’s as if the gov’t said: you have to buy a car, but it’s got to be a cadillac.
