Protesters shouted names at tourists, calling them “losers” and “jerks” as they walked inside the Cosmopolitan on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Culinary Union Local 226 put on the rally as part of the ongoing negotiations between the hotel and the union to sign a deal.
The Alliance to Protect Nevada Jobs posted the video on YouTube and says they wanted to demonstrate that union protesters are compromising potential tourists from coming back to Las Vegas.
“You don’t do that by calling tourists those names and berating them when they come here to spend their money in our city,” said Ron Futrell, spokesman for Alliance to Protect Nevada jobs. …

Vegas is fake. End of story. Want to go to a place where they take care of you? Then go to Laughlin or someplace like that.

Yes, a lot of people lose money gambling. Many consider it the same as spending money for entrtainment. They also pay for shows, meals, hotels, drinks, etc. This does not make them “losers.”
But at any rate, you still apparently missed the damned point.

It’s their problem if they do themselves out of jobs if they fail to get the customers back. LV isn’t guaranteed income after all.

And you still miss the point - I can’t stand Vegas personally, and don’t like to gamble, but you apparently have such an anti gambling anti Vegas bias that you can’t see what the significance and relevance of this story is. Shame....
On my trip to Vegas I found them padding my bill with things I didn’t order.

The story was not “about” Las Vegas. It was about something else, and it happened to take place in Vegas. Your antipathy about Vegas over whelms your ability to comprehend. (no doubt you’ll consider that one more thrown....maybe it is, but it is deserved and it is accurate...)

During that strike, they had a mass demonstration at one store. I went in and made some purchases--I don't think there was another customer in the store.
When I walked out, a bunch of demonstrators chanted at me, "Shame! Shame! Shame!" I waved my merchandise at them and they shouted more invective. I kept waving my merchandise and also flipped them off. Since the cops were there, I knew they wouldn't do anything other than yell.

We just got in to the Mandarin Oriental and saw this BS as we were walking around. I hadn’t planned on going in to Cosmo, but we decided we would go look around BECAUSE these idiots were out there doing this. They said nasty things about myself and my wife. I flipped them off going in and going out. We just walked around for a few minutes just to be contrary to what these union idiots were doing. My little way of showing them up, in a small way. :-)
IIRC,algore made that claim during the 2000 campaign.I'm pretty sure I recall a fair amount of derisive laughter regarding it because she was supposed to have done this *before* the theme was composed.
