Hmmmm. In 1967, I was a civilian member of an NSA team that rode a Huey up to the Special Forces camp on Nui Ba Den on an operation. Does that mean I’m authorized to wear an Air Medal?
ODA 324 on top of Nui Ba Den Mountain was a Special Forces radio relay site during that war and if a soldier landed there enough times he could be awarded an Air Medal, but I don’t think it applied to civilians. Too bad, an Air Medal and two dollars will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
