Republican U.S. Senate candidate Steve Lonegan today urged House Republicans "not to capitulate to the president's unreasonable demands. When I win, Obama will fold."
Lonegan says his internal polling shows a neck-and-neck race in the U.S. Senate contest and that all the momentum is in his favor. "My victory in this election on Wednesday will send a message to Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi that the American people want an end to Obamacare and the rest of the President's radical agenda."
The former three-term Bogota mayor called on Republicans to stop listening to the same consultants and pollsters who blew the 2012 election and who are telling the GOP to fold and instead stand firm for seven more days.
"Republicans need to hold firm because seven days from today when Bob Menendez escorts me down the Senate aisle for my swearing in, the message about what our party should do will be clear for all," Lonegan maintained.
"I have come as far as I have in this campaign by ignoring the advice from all the pollsters and consultants who have told me to change what I think and change who I am," Lonegan added. "New Jerseyans are looking for a leader who fights for working taxpayers, not a Hollywood wannabe like Cory Booker who will rubber stamp the President's far-left wing agenda."
Steve Lonegan served as the Mayor of Bogota for twelve years, winning three times in a town that gave Barack Obama 67.5 percent of the vote in 2012. He served for seven years as state director of Americans for Prosperity New Jersey, where he helped defeat liberal attempts to expand big government. Steve Lonegan is the conservative Republican nominee in the New Jersey special election for the United States Senate. Lonegan stands firmly on his bedrock conservative values of limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual liberty.
In Jersey? LOL, the means are almost infinite.
Getting the NBPP to Mau-Mau the honkey vote.

According to a Fox story, he has gone from 35 points down to 12 points (3 on internals) while being outspent nearly 10 to 1. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/10/democrat-darling-cory-booker-facing-battle-as-nj-senate-race-tightens/
Something’s happening beyond the normal tightening, just hope there’s enough time and funding increases. The Republicans need to invest in Lonegon even if some don’t like his Tea Party / conservative leanings. This race has been hidden from the national news - if Booker wins (even though by a lot less than the 35% it could have been), Zero will claim its a national affirmation of his policies. If he loses, we probably won’t even hear about it on any media.
Time to donate and contact the National Republican Senatorial Committee and urge them to fund this campaign. Even if he loses - they need to make the point that this was a Senate race that wouldn’t have even been a contest but for the shutdown, and like when Scott Brown was elected - this is all about rejection of Obamacare even by Democrats.
How does a guy expunge three terms?
Sounds a little like a former career politician.
Do these folks ever study WRITING at these Journalism Schools?
Every time she comes out in public like this, I fear for her safety.
I like his confidence too. When he wins, maybe he can spread it to the rest of the GOP.
This man is a true believer and not an actor like any one of the gop/e. I HATE THE GOP/E... I mean I despise them as much as I do reid, piglosi and obummer.
New Jerseystan.
I think what’s hurting Booker is the tweeting stuff. Apparently multiple sources have said that Booker tweets non-stop, no room for mayoral type stuff.
And it appears to be true.
I have been sending him money all during his campaign.
He could use some more FReeper help, if you can spare a few bux!
We must defeat Cory Booker!
Every Republican win between now and November 2014 is one more finger in the LIEberal eye!
I live in Flori-duh, but it is important to elect conservatives every chance we get!

I think there’s a chance - despite Booker outspending Lonegan 10:1 he’s been closing in on the polls. While he’s still behind by 10 (from 30) special elections tend to have very low turnout. ex. only 9% turnout on NJ senate primaries.
And we know motivated conservatives do very well in elections where turnout is low.
So how does one reconcile the facts that Bogata voted for a Marxist, Obama and a conservative Steve Lonegan?
Turnout?...as in people who hate both big-government and big-government-lite, who usually don't turn out, and who WILL turn out to vote for a real small government candidate.
Maybe I read too much into the voting results of small town Bogata.
Let's see what happens state wide.
In many historic battles, the guys who flinched first lost. And the Democrats actually have more to lose, don't they?
If the GOP can stand firm and get the Demogogue Party to stand down, the victory will change the political landscape.
This type of campaign should resonate across the country. Any conservative who has thought about running for office, please give it another serious consideration. We are starved for your leadership and inspiration.
Best of luck Steve Lonegan.
Never underestimate the GOP-elite’s ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I will say this much for him, Lonegan has a lot of fight in him. I dont think he willwin unless there is a massive failure of the Dem base to turn out. But, never the less it is good to see.
Well, if you think that, you will be blind sided.
Sat with a bunch of self proclaimed pubbies that also believed, in their hearts, that they were a "conservative" bunch.
Then, they opened their pie holes and a bunch of liberal fart gas fell out.
They were "stunned" when I told them to eff off, and left.
His staff should watch for voter fraud. Let’s not forget - we are talking about a deep blue state here.
That’s one thing I’ve noticed about Republicans from the Northeast (not all - but most) they fight and know how to fight!
