President Barack Obama rejected the GOPs short-term debt limit plan because it does not also end the partial government shutdown, the New York Times reports.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) reportedly left Thursdays meeting at the White House with Obama without issuing a public comment to the press.
Even though House Republicans softened their long-standing demands, Obamas rejection isnt entirely a shock given that Senate Democrats had already declared it unacceptable on Thursday.
Not going to happen, declared Majority Leader Harry Reid, standing outside the White House after he and fellow Democrats met with President Barack Obama. Reid referred to a Republican plan to leave the 10-day partial government shutdown in place while raising the nations $16.7 trillion debt limit and triggering negotiations between the GOP and Obama over spending cuts and other issues.

fock off then white house
Ted Cruz is on CNN’s Crossfire with Newt Gingrich and Van Jones.
Good GD you POS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m glad my granny got to the WWII Memorial before Obama gets really aggressive because you just know he’ll ramp up the pressure.
good!!!
*I’ve been willing to compromise my entire political career*
LIAR!
I bet he can’t come up with one example.
It proves Harry Reid tells obama what to do. What we need to know is who tells Reid.
When the Dems want to end the shutdown all the Republicans should answer
Not going to happen,
So then Boehner actually did not cave in and did not soften his demands?
At least they would have peace-talks.
We are in the catbird seat. This is no time to cave in. This hard-line from Dirty Harry and the POTUS should strengthen the resolve of the Republicans so that they do not move an inch.
SHOW AMERICA THAT WE DON'T NEED BIG GOVERNMENT.
...and the low information voters are learning every day.
Keep it shutdown and keep school in session!
“As long as we get everything we are demanding, we are open to negotiations.” - Barack Obama
Boehnor is such an idiot. He should be pressing the house to pass spending bill for individual departments and agencies. Pass bill after bill after bill. Show the country it is the President and Harry Reid that are dead set on invoking the catastrophe that is ObamaCare and are willing to put people out of work just to get their way.
It proves Harry Reid tells obama what to do. What we need to know is who tells Reid.
OK, that is an important question.
Well it was a good bet , the Dems think they’re winning because the MSM are telling them so
Cruz: “Would you charactarize Hoffa’s comments about Obamacare hurting the working man as right wing histrionics?” Liberal on Crossfire: “Hoffa says your quoting him is inappropriate and out of context.” Cruz..”ok, well...(they went to a break.)
I guaran-damn-tee you Obama WANTS the default. Then he can stop funding EBT Food Stamp cards. Then the cities explode and burn. Then he assumes Emergency Powers, dismisses Congress and the Senate, and is King For Life.
It separates the Obamcare Issue from the Spending Issue.
That would force a negotiation on changes or delays to Obamacare separate from negotiations on spending that would be the central issue on the increase in the debt limit.
If this was the GOP strategy then Obama saw though it and, from his point of view, "wisely" rejected the plan.
So where do we go from here? I don't know. I'm hoping Ted Cruz does. He may be the only one who does and we should follow his lead.
Keep it shut down until the furloughed workers are FORCED to get new jobs. Then close the departments in 2017.
That should be the House's final line in the sand.
Put it on Reid's shoulders. Senate budget and regular order or nothing.
