House GOP Preparing to Give Up
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 10th, 2013
Im being told by several sources that Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor are plotting to give up trying to either defund or delay Obamacare
Look what JOHN ROBERTS has done......! I actually think the speaker has done a much better job than anyone could have. This is the most precarious position to be in with GLOBAL effect. The victory you all want has to come from the minds of the people and in 2012 they chose the other side. So if we are losing it is there not in this battle before the Congress..... WIN ELECTIONS they have consequences..!
we can only hope you are right, and that we are not stabbed in the back by the RINO traitors to the Constitution
speaking of RINO’s
“Theres no simple undo function ...”
Doesn’t need to be simple. People coming into the streets in protest, the software not working, doctors refusing to participate.
Undoing Obamacare will happen by sheer force including the force of the voting booth.
Why would anyone be surprised?
For many years now, both party’s have betrayed the American people as a matter of routine.
What are people thinking?
Yeah...that breaks stuff...but the mechanisms to repair/restore in a timely manner will have disappeared. — which is the other part of UNDO.
Also, I recall hearing the same argument in 1992. That didn’t exactly turn out well either.
I actually think this is a terrific move by the speaker. He extends the default hammer by six weeks. Just shelves it for later. Keeps all the focus on the budget and shutdown and gives time for the horrible rollout of Obamacare to sink in for the masses. Obama and the Dems are losing the shutdown battle. Boehner just closed up another front and sticks with the battle we’re winning. In six weeks we can begin to win the debt battle.
IMHO
I agree...the shutdown continues and Americans have another 6 weeks to see that we can survive despite 17% of the Gov't not working.
Plus the one year delay for the Obamacare mandate is still alive.
And last but not least the GOP is seen as being the adult in the room by allowing for a 6 week reprieve and Obama is viewed as a petulant baby.
