Is the House Republican leadership backing away from its demand that big changes to Obamacare are the price of reopening the government and raising the nations debt ceiling?
Thats what some tea party conservatives are beginning to suspect. Theyve noticed rhetoric from House Speaker John Boehner (R) of Ohio and his allies has changed a bit in recent days. Its focusing on the word conversation as in, what the GOP wants is for President Obama to give in and talk to them. The GOP leadership is talking more about the general prospect of tax reform and budget restraint, as opposed to the Affordable Care Act in particular.
Now, a new op-ed from House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R) of Wisconsin is irritating some on the right due to what they believe is its apostasy. The piece repeats the request for negotiation and talks about the prospect for bipartisan entitlement reform. It does mention the need for a complete rethinking of governments approach to health care, but only as a vague future goal.
But right now, we need to find common ground.

Correct. Having power is like having laws. There is no point in giving them new ones if they don’t properly use the old ones.
FUPR. The House is GOP held ONLY because the 2010 and 2012 freshman candidates RAN ON killing Obamacare.
Now get busy.
We need to hold the line and hold the base. Ryan needs to shut up and go Noodling.
I suppose one could wipe one’s arse with a copy of the U.S. Constitution as a “sign of good faith”...
;-)
Of course, that wouldn’t exactly meet the “and still be a REAL AMERICAN” criteria, would it?
Words fail me.
CNN IS ALL OVER THIS. ...
New rat talking point.
My feet aren’t cold but evidently his are.
Paul Ryan is an amnesty whore. I have no use for that POS that made a fool out of me and a lot of other people ...go get a job once in your life Paul and get your worthless ass out of DC for a day or two
