ASHEVILLE Taking a cue from the Pisgah Inn, officials at the Folk Art Center reopened the facility today.
The popular center on the Blue Ridge Parkway had been closed since Oct. 1 because of the federal shutdown. The center reopened at 9 a.m. today.
Were in the same scenario as them, said Tom Bailey, managing director of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, which operates the center. There are no federal employees here, so we decided we were going to open today.
