On more than one occasion, President Obama has quietly met with select members of the media. The off-the-record meetings were notable in that conservative journalists were seldom included.
On Tuesday, the tables were turned somewhat as Obama invited a small number of conservative reporters, columnists and commentators to the White House for a private chat, but is the president looking for an edge in the ongoing budget impasse with Congress?
Ben Shapiro, editor-at-large of Breitbart News, called the meeting a clear attempt to woo largely establishment conservative commentators who have loudly opposed the GOPs current government shutdown strategy.
Those in attendance Tuesday include Charles Krauthammer, a Fox News contributor and Washington Post columnist; Paul Gigot, Wall Street Journal editorial page editor; Robert Costa, the National Reviews Washington editor; syndicated columnist Kathleen Parker; and Washington Examiner columnist Byron York, a source with knowledge of the meeting told Politico.
Those five are considered Conservatives? By whom?
If they can be “wooed” by a socialist they’re not conservative.
....those that sup with the Devil need a long spoon.
Probably went the same way the talk with justice roberts went. “Look at all this horrible and embarrassing information that a rogue element at the NSA was planning to use against you. But my people found out about their intentions and stopped them. I just wanted you to know about it. Now...where were we?”
Kathleen Parker is still considered conservative? Well, at one point, so were Arianna Huffington, David Brock! Parker is on her way there.
Anyone convinced by the Clown is not conservative. Period.
Look like he’s trying to use them to sell his side, instead of actually coming up with a solution
The handlers of the dungbeetleOTUS told him to do this. He doesn’t know which side of his croissant to have his servant butter in the afternoon when he gets up.
They sold their souls for access. Similar to the old joke about a guy who asks a woman if she would go to bed with him for a million dollars. She says yes at which point the guy says now that we know what you are, we just need to renegotiate the price.
“With all due respect, Mr. President, I must decline your generous offer.”
Signed,
Conservative reporter
where’s David Brooks ?
oh... even obama no longer considers him a conservative...
Kathleen Parker? Was David Brroks busy?
How is it that this purple lipped, scrawny, dumb, little gay man can seduce so many grown ups?
Of all the names listed Ben Shapiro is the only one I’d count as a conservative. And the article does not indicate if he was invited.
Oh, the poor WH maid who has to clean the room after all that slobbering and drooling.
Conquer and divide. You can see right through this one. Invite a couple of establishment RINOS, let the media feast all over this one by giving kudos to the president for having “conservatives” over to the White House, and in the process drive another wedge between RINOS and conservatives. Politically smart in an age of the low information idiots who will eat this up and get riled up against the GOP.
A private chat with Obama would start with, “James Rosen was here once and sat in that exact same chair.”
That is a great proverb, never heard (read) it before.
