Some friends and I are heading to the Natural Bridge State Park and Red River Gorge National Recreation Area this weekend. The Bridge is still open, but parts of the Gorge are closed, but I plan on checking it out.

As the Gorge has a sizable black bear population (one of my sister's coworkers was mauled a few years back), I always carry my 1911 with me. A .45ACP is questionable against a grizz, but it will do a blackie just fine.

I was going to go Yosemite this weekend but a snowstorm just closed the east entrance road (SR 120) into the park.
